No To Prototypical Projects

November - December 2024

Uygur Architects

Uygur Architects, an experienced architecture practice based in Ankara, has carried out more than 80 school projects in Istanbul since 2010. All of these buildings were public schools. They had to be built in a very short time. There were many stakeholders involved in the process and certain constraints and norms that they were expected to abide by. TED Ankara College, which they carried out before the process on this subject started, was a large-scale project in which they focused on the intricacies of educational spaces.

The exhibition brings to the agenda, together with all their processes, the educational structures designed by the Uygur Architects, who did not differentiate between the standards of TED, a private school, and the standards of these public schools in Istanbul and managed to develop a project specific to each school.
